“I served my country
— now I’m ready to serve my city.”

Peter Espinosa has spent his life serving — his country, his community, and his neighbors. After arriving from Cuba in 1969, Peter grew up across Miami in neighborhoods like Calle 8, Hialeah, and Miami Lakes. During his senior year of high school, he made a defining choice: to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army. Peter completed his education at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, home of the 82nd Airborne Division.

As a proud paratrooper, Peter trained in airborne operations, combat readiness, and leadership, rising to the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He attended the NCO Academy and served six honorable years in the Armed Forces before receiving an honorable discharge. In 1986, Peter became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America, the proudest moment of his life.
